The Maryland men's basketball team lost, 59-54, to Wisconsin in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., March 1.

The Terps fell to 19-13 overall. It's unclear whether Maryland will receive a National Invitational Tournament (NIT) bid. The last time the Terps didn't take part in postseason play beyond their conference tournament was at the end of the 2013-14 season, which was head coach Mark Turgeon's third season in College Park, Md.

Sophomore guards Kevin Huerter and Anthony Cowan and freshman forward Bruno Fernando combined to score 48 of the Terps' 54 points. The only others who scored were redshirt junior guard Dion Wiley (four points) and freshman guard Darryl Morsell (two). The Badgers had four scorers in double digits, led by redshirt-junior forward Ethan Happ (14) and freshman guard Brad Davison (13).
