Cross Street Partners, a vertically integrated real estate company exclusively focused on re-building communities by creating vibrant urban mixed-use neighborhoods, announced today that its principal, managing partner and CEO, Bill Struever, will receive an Icon Honor award by The Daily Record.

Established this year, Icon Honors recognizes Maryland business leaders, over the age of 60, for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership within and outside their fields. The honorees have moved their businesses and the state of Maryland forward by growing jobs and making a difference in the community. Winners were selected by the staff of The Daily Record.

“Over the years, Bill has taken forgotten neighborhoods in desperate need of attention and brought them back to life. He’s always had a great eye for the hidden gems in Baltimore, and his vision has constantly been to make investments for the benefit of the city – not only the benefit of profit. Everything I’ve seen him work on has been done to lift Baltimore to greatness,” said Laurie Schwartz, president of the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.

Last month, Urban Land Institute presented Struever with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as a real estate pioneer who has spent his entire career finding creative ways to reimagine urban properties. Today, he is responsible for Cross Street Partners’ master planning business, real estate development, sustainable development practices, and strengthening public/private relationships. Struever’s vision is to lead the country in Green urban revitalization, setting new LEED certified standards for all new project.

"Icon Honors recipients' innovative leadership, commitment to mentoring and community engagement demonstrate why they deserve to be called icons in the Maryland business community," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "They have committed many years to making our state a wonderful place to live and to work, and The Daily Record is pleased to honor them."

The Icon Honors awards will be presented Dec. 19 at a reception starting at 4:30 p.m. at The Center Club, 100 Light Street in Baltimore. Winners will be profiled in a special publication that will be inserted into the Dec. 20 issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
