The Ravens saved their season with a 40-0 rout of the Miami Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium Oct. 26, but they lost their starting quarterback for an undetermined amount of time, as Joe Flacco suffered a concussion late in the second quarter.
Flacco escaped pressure and sprinted downfield, and as he started to slide, Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso bore down and hammered Flacco, causing Flacco's helmet to fly off. Before the injury, Flacco had completed 10 of 15 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, a 34-yard floater to Jeremy Maclin down the right sideline that might have been his best throw all season.
The Ravens (4-4), who had been held without a first-half touchdown in four of the past five games, jumped to a 20-0 halftime lead and that proved to be plenty against a Dolphins team that ranked last in the league in total offense and 31st in scoring.
