More than 100 people attended the recent Descendants and Friends Picnic in Odenton, an event that is part of the year-long celebration for the 100th anniversary of Ft. Meade. The gathering was organized by the Fort Meade Community Covenant Council to recognize the families of land owners that owned acreage used to create Camp Meade in 1917. Prior to the lunch, a celebration was held to present the history of Ft. Meade's evolution to the nation's center for information, intelligence and cyber operations.
