Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti attended a Q&A session for fans with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ahead of the team's open practice at M&T Bank Stadium July 30.
One fan attempted to address Bisciotti with his question instead of Goodell. The owner obliged the fan, whose question was about the lingering possibility of the team signing controversial free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick and a backlash that could hurt the team's "brand." Bisciotti provided a thoughtful, lengthy answer with openness rarely seen in pro sports between ownership and the fan base.
"We are very sensitive to it," Bisciotti said. "It's been discussed between [team president] Dick [Cass] and [general manager] Ozzie (Newsome) and [head coach] John [Harbaugh]. We've talked to a lot of our current players and a lot of our former players. I was speaking to [former Ravens linebacker] Ray Lewis this morning. I know Ozzie had a long conversation with [tight end] Ben Watson. I wouldn't divulge peoples' opinions but I think you'd be kind of shocked at some people that are against it and some people that are for it."
