John Urschel's Sudden Retirement Caught Ravens By Surprise

Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman John Urschel's decision to retire from the NFL at the age of 26 certainly caught the team by surprise.

"John Urschel called me this morning," head coach John Harbaugh said July 27. "About, well, it was exactly 6:22. I remember when he called I looked right at my computer clock there. He said that he's going to retire from football. That's been something that's been on his mind for quite awhile throughout the offseason. And that's what he decided to do. We respect John tremendously. Probably the rest of it's for him to answer, whatever the details of that decision are."

Urschel later posted a statement on Twitter:
