On July 23, Michael Phelps is racing a shark.
OK, so he's not "racing" the shark per se. He's more swimming in an ocean while a shark will be swimming somewhere else in the ocean and somehow Discovery will turn it into a television spectacle for "Shark Week" that makes us believe there is some sort of racing competition actually happening.
And it's amazing, and everyone on the planet is going to be glued to their TV, right? How could anyone on the planet not be watching this spectacle, you guys? This is incredible. A 23-time Olympic gold medalist (and Baltimore native) battling the most daunting physical specimen known to man with the dripping irony of an athlete "jumping the shark" in his post-competitive career? This is so wonderful!
