Orioles Fall To Cleveland As Runs-Allowed Streak Continues

Orioles manager Buck Showalter had a good reason for missing his team's game June 22.

While Showalter may not remember the particulars of the nondescript game he didn't manage, he'll surely remember June 22, 2017 for the birth of his first grandson, Winston.

Showalter had long planned to be with his family on this day, and for the moment, his happiness will allow him to put aside the continued generosity of his pitching staff.

The Orioles extended their streak of allowing five or more runs in a game to 19, one short of the major league record 20 set by the 1924 Philadelphia Phillies, during a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians before 24,954 at Oriole Park.
