When new Ravens offensive line coach Joe D'Alessandris was interviewing for the job, head coach John Harbaugh mentioned that the Ravens had an offensive lineman from Nebraska named Alex Lewis.
D'Alessandris "did not put two and two together" at first, but when Harbaugh mentioned that Lewis' father had also played in the NFL, a light went on in D'Alessandris' head.
"His dad wouldn't happen to be Bill, would it?'" D'Alessandris recalled asking Harbaugh. "John looked at me like, 'How did you know that?' I said, 'Well I coached his dad 23 years ago.'"
