Orioles Hope To Avoid Record-Setting Road Losing Streak

The Orioles' road woes began at Nationals Park May 10. With the Orioles leading 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth, the Nationals' Michael Taylor hit a two-run home run off right-hander Alec Asher to make it a two-run game in the ninth.

Brad Brach, who had been a little shaky in prior performances, was on to seal the game. But after Washington's Jayson Werth hit a full-count home run to start the inning, the right-hander came unglued, and eventually his old catcher, Matt Wieters, hit a two-run single to send the Orioles to a painful 7-6 defeat.

Beginning with that game, the Orioles have lost 15 of 16 road games, including the past 11 straight, to put their road record at 10-22. They had been a respectable 9-7 away from home before the skid.
