Orioles Select High School Pitcher DL Hall In First Round Of Draft

The Orioles selected a high school pitcher with their first-round pick in the MLB Draft. DL Hall, a left-hander from Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Ga., was picked 21st overall June 12.

"Hall is a polished, young left-handed pitcher with a good fastball, curve, changeup and good control," Orioles scouting director Gary Rajsich said.

Hall, who is listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds, is the first left-handed pitcher the Orioles have selected since Brian Matusz was the fourth overall pick in 2008.
