BARCO Taps Owner of Mount Vernon’s ‘The Room’ to be Motor House’s New Managing Director

A veteran advocate for the arts has been hired to lead the Motor House, the Baltimore Arts Realty Corporation’s arts and performance hub in Station North.

The nonprofit known as BARCO today announced it has appointed Andre Mazelin to be the North Avenue arts incubator space’s new managing director. Mazelin has a wealth of experience serving Baltimore’s creatives, having worked as the operations director for Highlandtown’s Creative Alliance for 10 years and as an arts advocate in Baltimore for the last two decades.

Last year, he opened Mt. Vernon’s thriving fair-trade coffee shop, bar and community space The Room, a popular outpost known for hosting events geared toward Baltimore artists.
