Fantasy Baseball Risers, Fallers: June 12, 2017

6/12/17

The fantasy baseball season continues to be full of news, as it was another busy weekend. The Milwaukee Brewers promoted outfield prospect Lewis Brinson, and in his major league debut June 11 he walked twice and stole a base. There's no indication how long Brinson will remain in the big leagues, and with Ryan Braun close to returning from the disabled list, it may not be long. However, as we have learned recently, if a prospect is playing well he usually sticks. If fantasy owners need help with stolen bases, Brinson is a good guy to target.

Another player who should be added in all formats is Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Mallex Smith. Teammate Kevin Kiermaier landed on the disabled list June 9 with a fractured hip and is expected to be out for a couple months, so Smith will play every day in center field and bat leadoff. It's a shame this news came after our weekly waiver-wire column, because it may be too late to grab Smith. The 24-year-old has already made an immediate impact in four games, as he has collected eight hits and four stolen bases while scoring six runs. If he's available, grab him now, as he will fill up the stat sheet moving forward.
