The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) welcomed three new members into its Professional Advisor Recognition Society during a ceremony today.
The Professional Advisor Recognition Society honors legal and financial advisors who actively promote philanthropy in their practice. Advisors play a key role in educating their clients about charitable giving and through that work, they create a positive impact in their communities.
The 2017 inductees into the Society include John Faulkingham, Stan Klinefelter and Lisa Strong.
“Each year, we recognize some of philanthropy’s most important advocates in Baltimore: professional advisors,” said BCF President & CEO Tom Wilcox. “Advisors who add philanthropy to the list of planning topics plant a seed of change with their clients. John Faulkingham, Stan Klinefelter and Lisa Strong have all made notable contributions to philanthropy in Baltimore – through BCF and other organizations. We’re grateful for their work and pleased to honor advisors who work to expand philanthropy and are helping to build a better Baltimore now and for the future."
John Faulkingham is an attorney whose practice involves the planning and administration of estates and trusts, including charitable planning. He previously held positions at DLA Piper and Brown Advisory before opening his own firm in Lutherville.
Stanard T. Klinefelter is a Strategic Advisor at Brown Advisory. Since joining Brown Advisory in 2002, he has worked with high net worth families and individuals in a range of sophisticated matters relating to wealth transmission, investment strategies, personal financial planning, charitable giving and related tax matters. He is also a partner in the firm’s private equity group, evaluating private equity fund opportunities for Brown Advisory clients.
Lisa Strong is a Principal with Mister, Burton & French LLC. Her specialties include trust tax planning, research and compliance; planned charitable giving strategies; tax planning and compliance for family foundations; estate and gift tax and estate tax planning; and tax planning, research and compliance for individuals.
John Faulkingham said, “Charitable giving is important to many of my estate planning clients, but sometimes they have trouble figuring out where to give. BCF has been a valuable partner for those clients to ensure their dollars support the causes important to them."
Stan Klinefelter said, “BCF is unique in its ability to attract thoughtful donors, present meaningful opportunities to help well deserving people, and oversee the implementation of programs. I have been very impressed with its ability to leverage private funds.”

About the Baltimore Community Foundation
The Baltimore Community Foundation is a private philanthropic organization created by Baltimoreans to serve the current and future needs of the Baltimore region. Representing the common interests of a diverse pool of donors who care about Baltimore, BCF uses grants, initiatives and advocacy to address issues facing the region today, while building a civic endowment to address the needs of future generations. BCF also offers donors customized support for their individual philanthropic goals, expert assistance in learning more about the causes they care about, and the opportunity to join others with similar interests to learn and give together.
