The event on May 3rd attracted 16 registrants who received expert tips from Google partner, Creativation Marketing, on mastering Google tools, Google analytics and other Google resources to boost their business presence online.

On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, Howard Bank, a growth-focused community bank serving businesses, professionals and individuals in the Greater Baltimore area, partnered with Baltimore-based marketing firm, Creativation Marketing, to host Google workshop to benefit local small business owners in celebration of National Small Business Week.

The free, in-person workshop, Make Your Website Work for You, took place at Howard Bank’s headquarters in Ellicott City. The event attracted a variety of companies, both local and national. Local businesses included a farm-to-table restaurant and a hair salon, while companies with a national presence included a non-profit organization, an online retailer and an insurance provider.

“We were privileged to honor National Small Business Week by partnering with Google to provide thought leadership for our clients on growing their businesses online,” said Blaine Shipler, Howard Bank’s Senior Vice President and Business Banking Team Lead. “Creativation Marketing presented a successful framework for our clients’ online efforts and provided insight into each client’s individual needs.”

The workshop offered lessons on creating search-friendly websites for customers to increase a business’s search engine optimization (SEO). In addition to a lecture-style presentation, the workshop also featured brand-new tutorials and special resources from Google, and included time for individuals to try out newly learned Google tips and receive feedback from the experts.

“A company’s marketing efforts should always support their business goals. At Creativation Marketing, we help businesses focus their marketing to achieve these goals,” said Sharon Mostyn, Creativation Marketing’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Since businesses that are online grow 40% faster than those that aren’t, we wanted to share marketing strategies with local businesses that would help them grow their business online and off. We talked about how businesses can improve their online presence, making their websites more useful to their audience and boosting their search engine rankings.”

Creativation Marketing will also offer a free website review for any companies that attended. The consultation will focus on improving both on-page and-off-site practices, demonstrate proper website tracking using Google analytics and help each company increase their online traffic.
