Maryland linebacker Jermaine Carter Jr. experienced one of his best seasons for the Terps football team as a junior. Last season, Carter started all 13 games, while recording 110 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception that he returned for a touchdown.
Despite the successful season, in which his national profile continued to rise when he was named honorable mention All-Big Ten for the second consecutive year, Carter announced last December that he would forego the 2017 NFL Draft and return to the Terps for his senior season.
"I felt like another year would help me get better," Carter said on Glenn Clark Radio April 20. "The coaches have been doing a good job helping me understand what it means to be a pro, and I've got to be a pro everyday no matter what."
