While the Baltimore Ravens have a few defined needs to address on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, their needs are broader on the offensive side: The Ravens badly need an infusion of playmakers. With free agency beginning March 9 and the 2017 NFL Draft April 27-29, they'll get an opportunity to acquire some.
Mel Kiper Jr., a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore and a draft analyst for ESPN since 1984, joined Glenn Clark Radio Feb. 17, and part of Kiper's time was spent discussing the playmakers this draft offers at the running back, wide receiver and quarterback positions.
The Ravens are losing wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. (70 catches, 799 yards in 2016) to retirement and will likely lose wideout Kamar Aiken (75 catches, 944 yards in 2015) to free agency. That leaves Mike Wallace, Breshad Perriman and Chris Moore as the team's top three receivers currently under contract for 2017.
