While manager Buck Showalter said Feb. 14 that Chris Tillman is unlikely to make a fourth consecutive Opening Day start April 3, the right-hander is optimistic there's nothing dramatically wrong with his right shoulder.
Tillman received a platelet rich plasma injection on the shoulder in December, and he's been rehabbing since. He was expecting to throw catch for the fifth time in his rehab Feb. 15.
"It never really bothered me. It just never felt how I would want it to in the offseason," Tillman said. "I took the option of rest at the end of the season. It got better. It got much better. I wanted it to feel perfect."
