As I reflect on the past week in WWE, I wonder: Am I the only one who …
… has zero interest in seeing Goldberg in a world title match? This is 2017, not 1998. It was announced on "Raw" that Goldberg will challenge WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in the main event of the "Fastlane" pay-per-view March 5. We already know Goldberg will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 April 2, so the question now is whether Goldberg versus Lesnar will be for the title. Hopefully, Lesnar will interfere in the Goldberg-Owens match, which will allow Owens to retain the title and go to WrestleMania as the champion. Goldberg versus Lesnar is an attraction that doesn't need to have the title involved. More importantly, Owens is a guy in his prime who WWE should be building around. Having him lose to 50-year-old Goldberg, who hasn't wrestled full time since 2004, would definitely not be what's best for business in the long run.
