Public invited to open house February 28; Jessica Larson named director of region’s only adult day and night program dedicated to families living with dementia

Integrace Copper Ridge, a nationally-recognized innovator in dementia support based in Sykesville, Md., announces that the Peabody Club – the region’s only adult day and night program dedicated to families living with dementia – is now open and accepting members for its day program.

Limited to just 12 members per session, the Peabody Club engages members on an individual level for a richer daily experience. The Peabody Club provides families with everything they need – including medical resources and support, person-centered engagement, transportation, meals and snacks – to make days and nights easier. Integrace Copper Ridge expects to begin accepting members for the Peabody Club night program in February.

The public is invited to learn more about the Peabody Club, tour the space and meet the staff during a free open house at Copper Ridge (710 Obrecht Road, Sykesville, Md. 21784) on Tuesday, February 28 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

To oversee the daily operations and activities of the Peabody Club, Copper Ridge has welcomed Jessica Larson, RN, BSN, CCM, as program director. Prior to joining Copper Ridge, Larson was employed by Heart Homes Assisted Living in Linthicum, Md., where she acted as delegating nurse for eight residential buildings, including three facilities dedicated to Alzheimer’s and dementia. She earned both her Registered Nurse (RN) designation and Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) at Towson University.

“Our mission at the Peabody Club is to provide individuals living with dementia a safe and engaging environment where they can experience joy and meaning in life that is consistent with their daily or nightly routines,” said Jessica Larson, R.N., program director of the Peabody Club. “Our program will be tailored to the individual, honoring each member’s interests, strengths and abilities. And in addition, we’ll be providing their families with the break they may need to work, rest, or take care of other aspects of life.”

The Peabody Club adult day and night program is the newest addition to the comprehensive and innovative suite of dementia support services offered at Integrace Copper Ridge. In addition to providing dementia-focused assisted living, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation and care partner education, Copper Ridge is also the site of the Senator William and Ellen Proxmire Memory Clinic, specializing in comprehensive evaluations and customized plans for people experiencing changes in memory or cognitive ability; and the Copper Ridge Bistro, the community’s only restaurant created with the needs of those living with dementia in mind.

Families wishing to inquire about the Peabody Club may contact Jessica Larson at 410-552-3207 orjessica.larson@integrace.org.
