With Mark Trumbo's Return, 2017 Orioles Looking A Lot Like 2016 Orioles

If the Orioles are going to improve upon last season's 89 wins, that improvement is going to have to come from within. With right fielder/designated hitter Mark Trumbo's return now official, the 2017 Orioles are going to look a lot like the 2016 Orioles.

There were some notable departures. Designated hitter Pedro Alvarez and catcher Matt Wieters won't be back, though they haven't found new teams. Utility man Steve Pearce isn't coming back for a fifth iteration. Outfielder Nolan Reimold and right-handed relievers Tommy Hunter and Vance Worley don't have jobs, either.

On April 3, when the 2017 Orioles run down the orange carpet, there may only be two new players, catcher Welington Castillo and outfielder Seth Smith, on the 25-man roster. Every other player could be a 2016 Oriole.
