I should have known better.
I made my Divisional Round picks based on the assumption that a recent trend would continue: for the last three years, both top-seeded teams advanced to the Super Bowl after failing to do so for a long period of time
But this year, it's the hot team at the end that moves on (Packers), not necessarily the more consistent team throughout the season (Cowboys).
It also had to help that Green Bay had a wild card game under its belt, the better to establish and sustain a good offensive rhythm, while Dallas had a week off.
