It may have been cold in Baltimore, but it wasn't all that warm in Florida as the Orioles opened the first day of their three-day minicamp Jan. 9. Temperatures were in the 50s as players took the field.
About 20 players, mostly pitchers, are here. So are a few position players, including outfielders Christian Walker and Henry Urrutia, who aren't officially a part of the camp, but are here to work out.
Ryan Mountcastle, who was a supplemental first-round pick in 2015, is at camp to improve his play at shortstop.
The most recognizable names among the pitchers are right-handers Mychal Givens, Mike Wright, Logan Verrett and Jason Garcia, all with major league experience.
