The University of Maryland men’s basketball team rebounded from its difficult home loss to Nebraska Jan. 1 with a 77-70 road win at Michigan Jan. 7. The Terps (14-2, 2-1) were led by senior Damonte Dodd and freshman Justin Jackson (15 points apiece), along with juniors Melo Trimble (13) and Jared Nickens (12).

It was just the second true road game of the year for Maryland, with the first coming at Georgetown Nov. 15.

Michigan’s Derrick Walton Jr. hit a 3-pointer to open the scoring, but that was as large of a lead the Wolverines would have all day. Jackson started the Maryland scoring with a jumper and Dodd followed with a dunk courtesy of Trimble to take a 4-3 lead, and the Terps would lead for the rest of the game.
