One of the winningest girls' basketball teams in the Baltimore area during the past couple seasons has been Howard, and this year appears to be no different. The Lions improved to 9-0 after topping Long Reach, 49-35, Jan. 4.
It isn't the first time Howard has begun the year on a win streak. Just last season, the team started 10-0. It was the beginning of an excellent year for the Lions, who finished 22-3 and as Howard County champions, the second time in the past three years Howard accomplished that feat.
"We've played at least nine girls in each game, which for high school is a lot. Usually a high school team plays seven in a game," head coach Scott Robinson said. "We have parity among the team, which is something we try to take advantage of."
