University of Maryland head football coach DJ Durkin indicated during a teleconference Dec. 20 that senior quarterback Perry Hills is "as healthy as he's been in a long, long time" heading into the Terps' matchup against Boston College in the Quick Lane Bowl at Detroit's Ford Field Dec. 26.
Shoulder injuries kept Hills sidelined for a large chunk of the season. Hills originally injured his right shoulder at the end of Maryland's win at Central Florida Sept. 17. He then aggravated it during a loss at Penn State Oct. 8, sat out the Terps' loss to Minnesota Oct. 15 and re-aggravated the injury during a loss at Michigan Nov. 5.
Hills then injured his left shoulder in a loss to Ohio State Nov. 12 and sat out a during loss at Nebraska Nov. 19. He returned to help lead the Terps to a 31-13 victory against Rutgers Nov. 26 to become bowl eligible, but he was only asked to throw 15 passes. However, Maryland expects a fresh Hills come Dec. 26.
