The Orioles hope the news connected to them at the MLB Winter Meetings Dec. 5-8 doesn't just concern former Orioles.
Left-hander Rich Hill, who pitched for Baltimore in 2009, signed a three-year, $48 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, while first baseman/designated hitter Steve Pearce, who had four iterations with the Orioles, came to an agreement on a two-year, $12.5 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Orioles would like to re-sign outfielder/designated hitter Mark Trumbo, but his demands are reportedly too large for them, and they're considering Michael Saunders, Angel Pagan and others to fill Trumbo's outfield vacancy.
First baseman/designated hitter Pedro Alvarez, who played for Baltimore last season, has reportedly been in contact with the Boston Red Sox, who are looking for a replacement for the now-retired David Ortiz.
