On an overall frustrating day for the Navy football team, quarterback Will Worth was forced to the sidelines with a pair of crutches and an air cast on his left foot.

Worth suffered what turned out to be a season-ending foot injury in the second quarter of the Midshipmen's 34-10 loss to Temple in the American Athletic Conference championship on Dec. 3. The Midshipmen also lost three slotbacks, Darryl Bonner (head), Dishan Romine (leg) and Toneo Gulley (ankle), to injuries.

The defeat ended any chance of Navy (9-3) earning a spot in the Cotton Bowl as the Group of 5 champion. Instead, the Midshipmen will now focus on beating Army Dec. 10 at M&T Bank Stadium before playing in the Armed Forces Bowl, where it is now contractually obligated to play.
