The Johns Hopkins women's cross countrys quest for a fourth consecutive NCAA Division III championship was derailed during the 2015 season. Following national championship performances from 2012-14, the Blue Jays finished fourth at the 2015 NCAA meet. But it only took one year for Johns Hopkins to reach the top of the medal stand again.
The Blue Jays ran away from the rest of the 32-team field at the 2016 championship meet, which was held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 19. Johns Hopkins outdistanced runner-up Washington (Mo.) by 74 points to win its fourth NCAA championship in five years, scoring its largest margin of victory during the school's title runs. SUNY Geneseo, Williams and Massachusetts Institute of Technology completed the top five.
