The type of season the Navy Midshipmen have put together in 2016 would probably surprise me … if I was capable of being surprised by Navy football.
In case you missed it, by virtue of their 66-31 win at East Carolina Nov. 19, the Mids clinched the American Athletic Conference's West division title and a spot in the AAC Championship Game Dec. 3. This alone would be a remarkable accomplishment for any program during just its second season playing in a conference, but there's so much more that makes it remarkable for Navy.
