It doesn't bother me that Boston Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello won the American League Cy Young Award. He's worthy of the award, but Orioles closer Zach Britton was better.
I didn't necessarily expect Britton to win, but I thought he should have been in the Top 3.
The news that Porcello won in an extraordinarily close race over Justin Verlander wasn't surprising. I am still getting over the astonishing news that Britton wasn't even a finalist.
Britton finished in fourth place and received five first-place votes, including mine, but he was left off six ballots entirely.
