For the most part, the Maryland men's basketball team's much-anticipated early-season matchup with Georgetown was marred by whistles, with 56 total fouls called. But the game took an unexpected, dramatic turn late, with the Terps turning a seven-point deficit with less than a minute remaining in regulation into a 76-75 victory at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Nov. 15.

Maryland's comeback was sparked in part by freshman guard Kevin Huerter, who made a 3-pointer to bring the Terps within four with 58 seconds remaining. Georgetown junior guard L.J. Peak responded with two free throws, and freshman forward Justin Jackson made a layup to bring the score to 72-58 with 29 seconds remaining.

Hoyas junior forward Isaac Copeland made one of two free throws on its ensuing trip, pushing Georgetown's lead to five. Freshman guard Anthony Cowan was fouled on Maryland's next possession and sank both free throws, cutting Georgetown's lead, 73-70, with 19 seconds left.
