It was obvious when Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. missed the two pre-bye week games against the New York teams with an ankle problem.
Two other factors were also obvious: how much worse the Ravens' offense was without him and how much more explosive its potential became when he was back on the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers Nov. 6.
This week's practices have featured a more subtle approach from the 16-year veteran.
Smith has taken it upon himself to remain inside the Under Armour Performance Center building while his teammates begin practice without him, going so far as to skip the individual position-drill period and come out when that portion has concluded.
