Ravens Have History Of October Slumps

In a Presidential election campaign, the term "October surprise" is self-explanatory; sometimes, it's a gross understatement.

But for the Ravens, a slump in the season's second month is clearly not a shock.

The team's four-game losing streak not only puts it into the bye with a 3-4 record, it has extended its October run to seven straight defeats. The Ravens haven't won an October game since last year's Week Four 23-20 overtime win at Pittsburgh and are 14-19 during the month under head coach John Harbaugh.

What's even worse is that in Harbaugh's nine-year coaching tenure, Baltimore has posted October records of .500 or below six times.
