Remember the date: Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016.
Not only was it the day you stopped talking to your college roommate because, "Seriously, we talked about it a million times; I can't watch 'The Walking Dead' until Monday. Why in the world would you send me that text?" It was also the day where the most unflappable Baltimore sports meme came to an unceremonious end.
If pressed, I wouldn't be able to pinpoint exactly when the phrase, "In Ozzie We Trust," first entered the Baltimore sports lexicon. It probably wasn't during the 2000 season, when the Ravens won their first Super Bowl. At that point, Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome still wasn't even officially general manager (he was the de facto general manager, but the title was vice president of player personnel). His success was largely unexpected after the team failed to finish better than .500 during their first four years.
