A new era of Maryland football has begun.
After recording a 50-7 win against Purdue during their Big Ten opener Oct. 1, the Terps have already eclipsed their win total from the 2015 season. It is clear first-year head coach DJ Durkin has brought a new energy to the program.
"When [Durkin] first got here, he said, 'I'm going to recruit the best coaches I can get and the best strength staff I can get, because I want to be the best,'" sophomore running back Ty Johnson said on Glenn Clark Radio Sept. 29. "When he said that, I believe the whole team mostly gave our hearts to Coach Durkin, because we want to be the best as well."
