McDaniel Women's Soccer Continues Strong Run With Perfect Start

The McDaniel College women's soccer team got a taste of the NCAA tournament for the first time last season, and the 2016 squad could be headed for a return engagement.

The Green Terror extended their season-opening win streak to eight games with a 1-0 shutout of Goucher College Sept. 27. The victory capped a perfect September for McDaniel, which is ranked 24th in the D3soccer.com national poll and will take an 8-0 record into its Centennial Conference matchup against visiting Ursinus Oct. 1.

"A lot of our success comes from our experience," said head coach Sandy Lagana, now in her fifth season at McDaniel. "The players look more comfortable in tight situations this year. We're also deeper and have been playing 15-18 players per game."
