During the 2015 season, the Stevenson University football team rode its defensive unit to a program-best 9-2 record and second consecutive bowl victory. A year later, the Mustangs offense is leading the way.
Spurred by the production of junior quarterback Dan Williams, the Mustangs jumped to a 4-0 start for the third consecutive season. Williams and his speedy receiving corps were largely responsible for Stevenson's 54-15 victory against FDU-Florham at Mustang Stadium Sept. 24. He has completed 68 percent of his pass attempts, setting single-game school records with 338 passing yards and six touchdown throws in three quarters.
"That was the first time we saw man-to-man coverage all year, which was different," said Williams, who bounced back from a torn ACL suffered Sept. 19, 2015, to earn the starting spot this year. "But the coaches do a great job of preparing us. We know that we have the best talent out there, and we can't wait to get to Saturday."
