KBE’s Work on Supermarket in Hyattsville Receives Merit Award from ABC

KBE Building Corporation (KBE) recently received another opportunity to celebrate the completion of Safeway at University Town Center in Hyattsville, Maryland. KBE was recognized in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Chesapeake Shores Chapter’s annual Excellence in Construction awards program with a Merit Award in the Commercial – $10 – $25 Million category.

KBE, a $300 million construction firm, served as General Contractor for the $18 million project, which also encompasses additional specialty store and office space.

The Safeway supermarket now anchors University Town Center, which comprises over 1.5 million square feet of existing office, retail, and living space, including a 67,500 square foot, stadium-seating, Regal Cinema.

KBE also received recognition from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Baltimore Chapter earlier this year. The firm received the Merit Award for work on the Annapolis Joint Commissary and Navy Exchange project in April.
