The Orioles' recent struggles at home were nothing the last-place Arizona Diamondbacks couldn't fix.
The O's took full advantage of their hapless interleague opponent, completing a three-game sweep Sept. 23-25 to finish their 2016 home schedule. With the victory, the O's salvaged a 4-5 home stand and went 50-31 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards this season.
"Initially I thought about, this home stand, how much we wanted to play well and win the games in front of that type of crowd," manager Buck Showalter said. "You want to repay their support more than anything. Their support's had a lot to do with us having a good record. It's always been a place of refuge or safe haven for us. A lot goes into making that atmosphere such, from the clubhouse to the players to the fans to the organization as a whole, and most of all the city. So it played to our advantage."
