The baseball world was shocked Sept. 25 by the news that Marlins ace pitcher Jose Fernandez, 24, was killed in a boating accident in Miami Beach.
Fernandez was one of the most dynamic pitchers in baseball, notching two All-Star appearances and the 2013 National League Rookie of the Year award. During his four years in the majors, he was 38-17 with a 2.58 ERA in 76 starts, racking up 589 strikeouts in 471.1 innings.
