The NFL season is in its third week, and already daily fantasy football contestants are sorting through a pile of injuries to key players, looking to get an edge by scooping up substitutes-turned-starters at bargain prices.
Injuries hit running backs particularly hard, including Minnesota's Adrian Peterson (out, knee), San Diego's Danny Woodhead (out, knee), Miami's Arian Foster (iffy, groin), Carolina's Jonathan Stewart (out, hamstring), Detroit's Ameer Abdullah (out, foot) and Tampa Bay's Doug Martin (out, hamstring).
Quarterbacks who may not be able to answer the bell are New England's Jimmy Garoppolo and Chicago's Jay Cutler, while Cleveland's Josh McCown has already been declared out with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
Among wide receivers, the Browns' Corey Coleman, who had five catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens Sept. 18, broke his hand in practice, and the New York Jets' Brandon Marshall may play, but he is coming off a twisted knee.
