It's possible no one was happier to be back at M&T Bank Stadium for the Baltimore Ravens' 13-7 opening win against the Buffalo Bills Sept.11 than former Ravens wide receiver Jermaine Lewis. The two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Ravens in 2001 was recognized by fans before the game.
"It was great. I couldn't even put words to it. That was my first game back I've been to," Lewis said Sept. 12 on Glenn Clark Radio.
Lewis spent six of his nine NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens from 1996-2001 and made his mark as a return specialist, where he still holds franchise records for punt return yards and punt return touchdowns. But he also paid a price for his success, as he suffered 18 concussions during his professional career. By the end of his career, he said he lost the passion for the game.
