It's do-or-die time for the Baltimore Orioles.
If the O's have any hope of claiming the American League East crown in 2016, they'll need to play the series of their lives against the Boston Red Sox, who head into Baltimore for a four-game set starting Sept. 19. The first-place Red Sox are currently three games ahead of the Orioles.
The Orioles didn't do themselves any favors in the division race during their four-game series against the Rays Sept. 15-18. The Birds settled for a series split, a disappointing result against a last-place Tampa Bay club that is 21 games under .500 this year. As a result, the O's -- who had climbed within one game of the Red Sox following their series win in Boston last week -- lost ground in the division standings to Boston, who swept the Yankees during the weekend.
