Heritage Training and Shooting Center, a full-service training center, shooting range and firearms retail store that focuses on safety and education, announced today that its facility received a first place award for Excellence in Construction in the $5 million & under category. The award was presented by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) Cumberland Valley Chapter. The overarching goal for the center was to create a state-of-the-art facility that was different than other shooting ranges and designed with comfort in mind.
Built by Waynesboro Construction Company, the center features two climate-controlled shooting ranges, a virtual reality simulation lab, education and training classrooms, and a retail store. The main lobby is open and bright, and feels more like a corporate tech company than a shooting range. Separated from the main lobby by soundproof walls, the firing ranges are fully equipped with easy-to-use programmable target systems and ballistic paneled shooting booths.
“We wanted to design a shooting range that was unlike any other and with the help of Waynesboro Construction Company, we were able to create a very modern and professional facility. Every detail was meticulously thought through to make guests of all skill levels feel welcome and comfortable,” commented Jim LaFleur, President of Heritage Training and Shooting Center. “Our customer base is extremely diverse and the unique design of the center has helped to build a loyal following. We’re thrilled that our facility has been recognized and proud to redefine the modern shooting range experience.”
The Excellence in Construction Competition, sponsored by Associated Builders & Contractors Inc., Cumberland Valley Chapter, honors the most innovative and high-quality construction projects produced by contractors in the region. Award winners were evaluated based on factors such as attractiveness, complexity, workmanship, innovation, unusual challenges overcome, among others.
