Considering the way the Ravens' defense performed during the season opener, maybe Robert Griffin III's timing is just right.
The former Washington Redskins quarterback, a Cleveland Browns free-agent signee, incurred a sprain to his left (non-throwing) shoulder during his team's 29-10 road loss at Philadelphia Sept. 11.
But collateral damage in the form of a fractured coracoid bone was revealed, so the former first-round pick has been placed on injured reserve, naturally ruling him out for the Browns' home opener against the Ravens Sept. 18.
Not long after the injury occurred, it had been speculated Griffin, who started in the Redskins' December 2012 win against Baltimore before defensive tackle Haloti Ngata fell on his leg and forced him to leave the game, could miss a significant amount of playing time.
