We have reached the point in the fantasy baseball season in which we are down to our final two waiver-wire columns. It has been fun finding hidden players to help your team, even if it was only for a week. The draft, of course, is significant when it comes to shaping your roster, but as we learn, injuries and ineffectiveness forces fantasy owners to adjust, and the waiver wire is how to keep a team afloat.
Waiver-Wire Targets:
Cincinnati Reds Infielder/Outfielder Jose Peraza -- This is your prototypical, late-season waiver-wire add. Peraza is playing due to Billy Hamilton's injury, and while you might have avoided Peraza earlier in the season, with just a couple of weeks remaining, he's a prime target. Peraza is currently batting .338 in 51 games played. He is also batting leadoff and has 14 stolen bases, which makes him even more attractive. Peraza is middle infield eligible and outfield eligible, which gives fantasy owners much-needed flexibility if they are having tough roster decisions. At only 20 percent owned in Yahoo! Fantasy leagues, he can easily be scooped up and help in a couple different categories.
