Gillis Gilkerson, one of the most stable and trusted construction management and general contracting firms on Delmarva, announced the renovation of Bay Terrace affordable housing community at 517 Bay Street in Berlin, Maryland is on schedule with twelve out of thirty-two units completed.
“Gillis Gilkerson is excited about the redevelopment of the Bay Terrace community,” said Dwight Miller, president, Gillis Gilkerson. “We are confident this project will breathe new life into the community for its residents and their families.”
The existing units are being gutted to the studs and rebuilt with new siding, roofing, windows, doors, mechanical, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, cabinets and flooring. The community includes three buildings with ten units and one two-story building with twelve units.
“The transformation is amazing,” said Tim Barila, vice president, Pax-Edwards, LLC. “Bay Terrace was in need of major renovations. The Gillis Gilkerson team literally took the community in its previous condition and restored it to its rehabilitated state. This could be the start of the Bay Street neighborhood revitalization.”
According to Gillis Gilkerson project manager, Jason Rudd and superintendent Mike Funk, the project is scheduled for completion in April, 2017.
