The good news about the Orioles' remaining 25 games is that, as clichéd as it sounds, their destiny is truly in their own hands. Or, perhaps for a team that scores 4.69 runs per game and allows 4.56, this season could be determined by their starting pitchers' arms.
With Baltimore's bullpen trio of Mychal Givens, Brad Brach and Zach Britton able to shut down teams late in games, all the Orioles really need is for their starter to carry the team through the first six innings. And that's just what the team has been doing of late.
Through the last 15 games, the Orioles have gotten 10 quality starts (defined as a minimum of six innings, with no more than three earned runs), including three in a row from Kevin Gausman and Ubaldo Jimenez.
