For fantasy owners, there is nothing better than when a player gets red hot in September. The season is long, but having a player take his game to the next level down the stretch can often make a difference in the standings. Obviously, the other side can happen as well. At this point, if a player is slumping, it is fine to bench him for a few days. With the games dwindling, fantasy owners can't afford to have a player struggle -- even for a week.
Three Up:
1. Minnesota Twins Second Baseman Brian Dozier -- I have now done "Three Up, Three Down" for almost two seasons, and there have been special performances by pitchers, but I'm not sure there has been a week by a hitter like the one Dozier put together. The second baseman hit eight home runs, drove in 13 runs, finished with a .419 batting average and chipped in with two stolen bases. For the season, Dozier has 38 home runs with 91 RBIs, 13 stolen bases and a .279 batting average. The 29-year-old has set career highs across the board, and fantasy owners are benefiting greatly. This year in fantasy baseball, second base has been loaded, and Dozier is in the conversation of being the most productive fantasy player at that position.
